
Within its capability list, Radio Shop fulfills the Inspection, Test, Repair and Overhaul of the Chapter 23 and Chapter 34 Communication, Navigation and Entertainment System components for THY Fleet and 3rd party Airlines Fleet.

Radio Shop is constituted from 3 groups which are :
Audio group is mainly focused on inspection, test, repair and overhauls of the Entertainment System Components. The group is generally related with the Audio – Video components ; PRAM (Pre-Recorded Announcement Machine), LCD Monitor, Megaphone, Handset, Video Cassette Player, Handsets, Microphones and also CVR (Cocpkit Voice Recorder), CVR Control Panel.
VHF Group is mainly focused on the inspection, test, repair and overhaul of the Navigation and Communication ( Aircraft-Aircraft, Aircraft-Ground ) System Components which are operating at VHF Band. Some of VHF Group Components are; HF Transceiver, HF Control Panel, VHF Transceiver, VHF Control Panel, ELT (Emergency Locator Transmitter), ADF Receiver, ADF Control Panel, VOR/ILS Receiver, Marker Beacon Receiver, Radio Management Panel.
UHF Group is mainly focused on the inspection, test, repair and overhaul of the Navigation and Communication ( Aircraft-Aircraft, Aircraft-Ground ) System Components which are operating at UHF Band. The group is also responsible for RADAR related components. Some of the UHF Group Components are ; DME Interrogator, Radar Transceiver, R/A Transceiver, ATC / TCAS Control Panel, Radar Control Panel, WxR Antenna Drive Unit, TCAS Antenna.



Instruments shop carries out the works of Inspection, Test, Repair and Overhaul for the components in capability list. The component are effective for THY fleet as well as third party.
Some examples of the components in our capability list are;
FDR (Flight Data Recorder), Cabin Rate indicator, Air Data Computer, DDRMI ( Dual Distance Radio Magnetic Indicator), HSI ( Horizontal Situation Indicator), Slats/Flaps Position Indicator, AOA (Angle of Attack) Sensor, and FQC( Fuel Quantity Computer).
This group is responsible for Test, Repair, Overhaul and Inspection of standby components generating data by means of pitot tube. Some examples of the components of this group are; FDR (Flight Data Recorder), Cabin Altitude indicator, Cabin Rate indicator, Stand by Air Speed indicator, Standby Altitude indicator, Mach Air Speed indicator, Air Data Computer, Cabin Altitude Switch and pitot tubes.
This group carries out Test, Repair, Overhaul and Inspection of the indicators and modules located in cockpit. Some examples of the components of this group are; Display, RMI (Radio Magnetic Indicator), DDRMI ( Dual Distance Radio Magnetic Indicator), HSI ( Horizontal Situation Indicator), Slats/Flaps Position Indicator, Vetical Speed Indicator, Inclonometer, Cokpit Clock, Standby Gyro, and IRU (Inertial Reference Unit).
Maintenance and repair of the components such as indicators, probes and sensors of hydraulic system and fuel system, engine primary and secondary indicators are performed by this group.
Some examples of the components of the group are; FQC( Fuel Quantity Computer), Fuel probe, Fuel Quantity Indicator, N1 & N2 Indicators, Summation Unit, fire and overheat detector installed on engine and APU, Vibration Computer and Sensor, AOA (Angle of Attack) Sensor, Transmitters and Transducers related to oil and hydraulic systems , Flap Position Transmitter and Indicators, Break Pressure Indicators, various heat sensors & switches .



Electrical shop consists of 1 Superintendent, 1 Engineer, 3 Head Technicians and 18 Technicians with a total of 23 personnel organized under the authority of ERI Overhaul Shops Management. Besides Electrical Shop is also responsible from the Battery Shop with 1 Head Technician and 18 Technicians and the Harness Shop with 5 Technicians.

This group is mostly responsible for electrical power system components included in chapter 24 like Starter Motor, Generator, T/R and chapter 33 lighting components. Test, Repair, Overhaul and Inspection of mentioned components are done in this group. Some examples of the components of this group are; APU Starter Motor, Starter/Generator APU Generator, Retractable Landing Light, Logo Light, Strobe Light, Transformer Rectifier, Relays, C/B and Contactors.
This Group is responsible for Galley Inserts, Ignition System Components and sensors that are in our shop code. Some examples of the components of this group are; Steam&Convection Oven, Coffee Maker, Water Boiler, Ignition Exciter, Ignition Cable and Plug, Proximity sensors.
This Group is responsible for Inspection, Test, Repair of electronic components which are System Controllers (like Cabin Pressure Controller, Pneumatic System Controller, Generator Control Unit etc.), Static Inverters, Battery Chargers, Power Supply Units, Smoke Detektors, Ballast Units and Bin Ceiling Lights. The example components are as mentioned above.
In this shop the TBR, TBO and Inspection of our fleet’s Main Batteries and Battery Packs are done as well as the third party components. All Main Batteries and Battery Packs are in capability list.
ATE stands for “Automatic Test Equipment” coming from the automatic test systems which exist in this shop. There are two types of ATEC, ATEC5000 and ATEC 6, in the shop.
ATE Shop performs the repair and maintenance of electrical, electronic and computer based aircraft components. There are many various components used on different aircraft types such as B737-800, B737-400, A310, A340 and A320 in capability list of ATE Shop. The Turkish Airlines Calibration Laboratory has been in operation since 1970s. The Calibration Laboratory manages, calibrates all the equipment used in Turkish Airlines Technical Services and client's.
The Calibration Laboratory shall operate and be satisfied the requirements of regulations of authorities concerning the airworthiness, such as FAA, JAA and EASA.
Standards used by the Calibration Laboratory are traceble to the national or international standards The calibration areas are controlled for the proper environment and calibration activities are documented.
