Ticket Service Charge

1. What is the meaning of Service Charge?

The Service Charge is, the fee taken from the passengers for the tickets issued from Turkish Airlines Call Center, Turkish Airlines Sales Offices or the web site www.thy.com as the service value.

2. How much is the Service Charge fee?

Domestic (Turkey) and International Flights Originating in Turkey:

For the domestic tickets and the international tickets originating from Turkey, Ticketing Service Charge (Per ticket) will be as follows on www.thy.com.

All Tickets Originating Outside Turkey:
1. Ticketing Service Charge (TSC) for all departure points except Turkey has been set as 10 Euro or the equivalent amount in local currency if you buy your ticket online at www.thy.com. For the tickets departing from France, Switzerland, Germany, Austria and Belgium, TSC is 15 Euro or equivalent local currency.

2. No TSC will be collected for refund transactions. If you purchase your reservations (TBO) at any Turkish Airlines office except THY.com, the applicable Ticketing Service Charge will be decided according to the location of that office. Therefore, there could arise discrepancies in ticket price amount during the ticketing of reservations at Turkish Airlines offices which are created on THY.com.

3. Why is Turkish Airlines taking the Service Charge fee?

While applying the Service Charge fees, Turkish Airlines is separating the total ticket fares taken from the passengers for the sales service and the flight operation service. Turkish Airlines Call Center and the web site www.thy.com is open 365 days per year and 24 hours a day in order to give making reservation and buying tickets services to their passengers. Issuing the domestic and international tickets with the Service Charge fees will quickly help Turkish Airlines to be adapted in the international travel industry.

4. From which tariff and destinations will be the Service Charge fee taken?

The Service Charge fee will be taken from the international and domestic tickets reserved and/ or issued directly in Turkish Airlines sales offices, Turkish Airlines authorized travel agencies, Turkish Airlines Call Center and the web site www.thy.com. The Service Charge fee could either be applied or not, according to the ticket issuing country.

5. Will the Service Charge fee be refunded during the refund conditions of the tickets?

If the refund demand is done according to the passenger’s own request or any reason because of the passenger, the Service Charge fee will not be refunded. But the refund demand is done because of the involuntary situations, the Service Charge fee will be refunded if only the tickets are issued from Turkish Airlines sales offices, Call Center or the web site www.thy.com. The Service Charge fee will not be taken from the refund situations.

6. Can the Service Charge fee be charged if the Turkish Airlines' tickets are changed because of date, class and/ or flight route alteration?

In any case of reissue the Service Charge fee can't be charged from both domestic and international tickets.

7. The Service Charge fee for the Connecting Flights.

For the connecting flights, the Service Charge fee will be applied for the longest sector. For the domestic and international tickets, if the class of the rate is changed the Service Charge fee will be applied according to the highest class.

8.Miles&Smiles reward tickets

The Service Charge fee will not be applied from any domestic and international Miles&Smiles reward tickets.

The Service Charge fee will not be applied from the Miles&Smiles paid companion tickets.
The Service Charge fee will not be applied from the Miles&Smiles upgrade tickets.
The Service Charge fee will not be applied from the other Miles&Smiles products.
The Service Charge fee will not be applied from the Miles&Smiles tickets in case of issuing the code-share flight tickets by Turkish Airlines.
