General Rules

 

1.Fares may only be valid for sale in the country where the journey begins, and may differ if purchased elsewhere. Fares may alter according to the season or fare rules. If you wish your ticket to be issued in a country other than the country of departure, you will need to contact your local Turkish Airlines office. Fares for domestic flights shown in New Turkish Liras will only apply for ticket sales made in Turkey.

 

"When you approve ticket purchases from our web site by using nonconvertible currency, the ticket amount will be calculated in EURO or USD and the ticket will be issued in EURO or USD. Your bank will be informed of the original ticket amount in EURO or USD. In situations where tickets are purchased using a credit card which is debited in a currency other than EURO or USD, the transaction amount in your credit card account may differ. THY does not assume any responsibility for such difference."

 

2.You can book a trip for up to 7 passengers with a maximum of 6 segments on each booking.

 

3. Rebooking and rerouting are not allowed for the internet bookings. If you wish to rebook or reroute your booking, please contact Internet Sales Service Center, Turkish Airlines Call Center or Turkish Airlines Sales Offices.

 

4. Total amount of the fare is calculated according to the country of departure.

 

5. When you approve ticket purchase on our web site for the the travels from Tbilisi, Tashkent, Bishkek,  Minsk, Dushanbe, Baku, Abu Dhabi, Bangkok, Singapore, Bejing, Hong Kong, Seoul, Cairo, Prag, Varsaw, Ljubljana, New Delhi, Budapest, Belgrade, Almaty, Astana, Shanghai, Riga, Mumbai, Chisinau, Muscat, Dubai, Lisbon, Moscow, St Petersburg, Rostov, Ekaterinburg, Kazan, Sanaa, Khartoum, Tunis, Casablanca, Cape Town, Johannesburg using nonconvertible currency, ticket amount shall be calculated as ‘Euro’ and the amount shown in the ticket shall be ‘Euro’. Your bank shall be informed about the original ticket amount ‘Euro’ and in case of purchasing ticket with a credit card which is debited in a currency other than Euro, the transaction amount in your credit card account might be different because of the rate of Exchange applied by your bank or credit card firm.

 

6. When you approve ticket purchase on our web site for the travels from Amman, Bahrain, Damascus, Doha, Tabriz, Dnepropetrovsk, Addisababa, Tehran, Aleppo and Simferopol using nonconvertible currency, ticket amount shall be calculated as ‘USD’ and the amount shown in the ticket shall be ‘USD’. Your bank shall be informed about the original ticket amount ‘USD’ and in case of purchasing ticket with a credit card which is debited in a currency other than USD, the transaction amount in your credit card account might be different because of the rate of Exchange applied by your bank or credit card firm.

 

7. Turkish Airlines accepts no responsibility for price differences occured due to the exchange rates taken as reference during the online booking transactions at thy.com.
 

 

 

Payment

 

1. PAYMENT by CREDIT CARD

 

You can only make 4 (four) different bookings in the same day with the same credit card. For the security purposes, CVC number (the 3 digits security code of your credit card) will be required during reservation. CVC number is found on the backside of the credit card. It's the last 3 digits placed after the credit card number.

 
When you approve the ticket purchase, the fare (including taxes and other charges)of your ticket charged to your credit card account. Credit card holder whose credit card is used for the payment of the ticket is under no obligation to be passenger.
 

If the credit card holder is not the passenger, you are required to give the credit card holder’s name, surname and e-mail address during booking for security purposes. A confirmation e-mail including booking and payment details will be sent to passenger and credit card holder’s e-mail separately. If necessary, information e-mail(s) regarding cancel/rebooking/rerouting requests will be sent to passenger and credit card holder’s e-mail separately after booking.

 

If the passenger apply Turkish Airlines Sales Office/counter in order to rebook/cancel/refund a ticket or to check-in for the first flight, credit card holder must be present at the counter with the passenger to show the credit card used for the payment and a valid Identification card or credit card holder shall apply to Turkish Airlines Sales Offices to show the credit card used for the payment and a valid identification card before the first flight recorded in the PNR.

 

For online bookings, we only accept MasterCard and Visa for the payment.

If the credit card holder, of which the credit card is used to purchase the ticket, is a Miles&Smiles Elite Plus, Elite, Classic Plus member or Classic Miles & Smiles member who has already earned 10.000 miles or has flown at least 6 (six) flights, conditions of submitting the credit card stated in paragraph three and four shall not be required. It is necessary for the Miles&Smiles Member to use its membership and PIN numbers while purchasing the ticket by means of credit card. The membership and PIN numbers are private and confidential and can not be shared with third party. Any transaction made by using correct membership and PIN numbers will be considered to be made by the Miles&Smiles member. Any and all responsability shall be borned by the the Miles&Smiles Member in case of any irregular usage. The right to use any other sanctions stated in the Miles&Smiles are reserved by THY.

What is 3-D Secure?

3D Secure is a simple password-protected identity-checking service which is designed to improve both Cardholder and Merchant confidence in Internet purchases and to reduce disputes and fraudulent activity related to the use of cards.

The system is supported both by Visa and Mastercard. If you use a Visa card then ‘Verified by Visa’ mark, if you use a Mastercard then ‘SecureCode’ mark is displayed during registration and each time the Cardholder enters a password for authentication at the time of purchase, and may also be displayed by participating Merchants.

How to sign up?

It is very simple to sign up:

 

  • You can sign up for the service through your card issuer either before or during an on-line shopping session at a 3D-Secure merchant.
  • You need to choose a password and a personal message to verify your identity.
  • When you’ve signed up, you can shop at any online merchant offering 3-D Secure.

How it works?

  • Choose online ticket tab on THY web site
  • Choose your flight 
  • Enter your personal info and card details as usual
  • A pop-up window will appear on the screen,
  • Your personal assurance message on the screen tells you that the bank or organisation that issued your card is asking for your password
  • Enter your password, click 'submit'
  • Your identity is then confirmed and your online ticket purchase is completed securely.
2. PAYMENT by EFT/MONEY TRANSFER

  • If the payment will be made via EFT/Money Transfer, flight date of the first segment of the PNR must be at least 2 working days+5 days and maximum 355 days after the booking date.
  • EFT/MONEY TRANSFER payment option can only be offered only for the flights departing from Turkey.
  • Ticket Delivery option for PNRs with EFT/Money Transfer can only be electronic ticket.
  • Option time limit of the Passenger Name Record (PNR) with EFT/MONEY TRANSFER payment will be 2 working days until 15:55 after first reservation date.
  • EFT/MONEY TRANSFER will be made among banks located within Turkey.
  • EFT/MONEY TRANSFER transactions will be completed by transferring total amount and EFT/MONEY TRANSFER code to Turkish Airlines’ Bank Account.
  • After total amount transferred to Turkish Airlines’ Bank Account, tickets will be issued.
  • Due to differences EFT/MONEY TRANSFER procedures of the banks, Cancel/Refund requests will be kept and Cancel/Refund procedures will be realized as soon as possible.
  • Cancellation / refund and penalty processes are carried out according to the ticket fare rules. For these transactions, EFT/MONEY TRANSFER Debit note should be presented to the Turkish Airlines Sales Officer by the person who purchased the ticket.
  • Since Bank are not available during official holidays and weekends, web site does not offer EFT/Money TRANSFER payment option in these periods.
  • THY is not responsible of any delays or other faults (deficient/excess EFT/MONEY TRANSFER amount, money transfer limit, terms and conditions about money transfer from bank counter etc.) caused by Banking Regulations and systems during EFT/MONEY TRANSFER transactions. Passenger is responsible to make sure that required amount transferred to Turkish Airlines’ Bank Account within the given time limit.
 
3.Internet Banking


You may make your payment and ticketing formalities through partner banks’ Internet Banking System if you create your bookings via www.thy.com.

In order to benefit from this service, you should enter only the PNR (Passenger Name Record) and passenger’s surname on the related web page of the partner bank.

“THY Pay&Fly through partner banks’ Internet Banking System” service is valid only for all flights departing from Turkey.

a) Electronic Ticket

I. Please check the list above for our eligible electronic ticket destinations.

II. If you are booking through our web site between maximum 355 days to at least 3 hours to your first flight and making your payments by using Credit Card or EFT-Money Transfer, your journey is eligible for electronic ticket, your ticket will be issued as an electronic ticket.

III. Credit card holder whose credit card is used for the payment of the ticket is under no obligation to be passenger.

IV. If the credit card holder is not the passenger, Cancellation/Rebooking/Rerouting requests of the passenger can be realized unless the credit card holder is present with the passenger with his/her credit card (used for the payment) and an identification card or the credit card holder must apply one of the Turkish Airlines Sales Offices to show the credit card (used for the payment) and his/her valid identification card.
If the credit card holder is not the passenger, credit card holder must be present with the passenger(s) at the check-in counter with his/her credit card (used for the payment) and his/her valid identification card or the credit card holder must apply one of the Turkish Airlines Sales Offices to show the credit card (used for the payment) and his/her valid identification card before the first flight.

V. If the credit card used for the payment is a virtual card, please do not forget to bring your credit card to which your virtual card is related.

VI. For Self Check-in, please use the credit card which is used for the payment. Virtual credit cards cannot be accepted for Self Check-in.

Please contact the nearest Turkish Airlines Sales Office (within maximum 7 days from the flight date) to receive e-ticket document which includes electronic ticket information and can also be used as an invoice.

b) Ticket on Departure

I. When reservations and purchases are made between 355 days and 3 hours prior to the departure time, you can pick up your ticket at the airport.

II. Credit card holder whose credit card is used for the payment of the ticket is under no obligation to be passenger.

III. The delivery of TOD (Ticket on Departure) tickets is made at the Turkish Airlines’ sales counters at the airport. (To learn more about which airports are eligible for TOD service, please see the list above.) While applying to the TOD desk, please do not forget to bring your credit card used for the payment and your valid identification card.
If the credit card holder is not the passenger, TOD delivery can be realized unless the credit card holder is present with the passenger with his/her credit card (used for the payment) and an identification card or the credit card holder must apply one of the Turkish Airlines Sales Offices to show the credit card (used for the payment) and his/her valid identification card.

IV. If the credit card used for the payment is a virtual card, please do not forget to bring your credit card to which your virtual card is related.

V. For Self Check-in, please use the credit card which is used for the payment. Virtual credit cards cannot be accepted for Self Check-in.

c) Reservation Only
I. Reservations can be made between 48 hours and 40 days prior to the first flight. You may buy your ticket from any Turkish Airlines Sales Office or make the payment within the given ticketing time limit through our web site.

II. All airports served by Turkish Airlines may be the departure point of your journey.

III. Fares are not guaranteed until you buy your ticket.

IV. Fares are valid for the departure country of your journey. If you buy your ticket other than the country of departure, fares may differ according the season and fares notes.

V. In order to realize payment and ticketing formalities in our web site, you may use Pay&Fly link. THY Pay&Fly service with Internet Banking is valid only for flights departing from Turkey on our partner banks’ web site.
VI. If the credit card holder is not the passenger, credit card holder must be present with the passenger(s) at the check-in counter with his/her credit card (used for the payment) and his/her valid identification card or the credit card holder must apply one of the Turkish Airlines Sales Offices to show the credit card (used for the payment) and his/her valid identification card before the first flight.

Cancellation and Refund

1. Pure domestic reservations booked through our web site can be cancelled via our web site by the passenger, if there is more than 12 hours to flight and unless it’s ticketed To cancel your booking, first click on ‘My Reservations’ on the Online Ticket pages. Your reservation codes will be listed after you login. When you click on the Cancel button in the same page, you will see cancellation terms and conditions. Cancellation is realized when the Cancel button is clicked once again. You will receive a confirmation e-mail from Turkish Airlines regarding your cancellation request.

If there is less than 12 hours to the scheduled departure time of your flight, for your cancellation requests, please contact Turkish Airlines Call Center at +90 212 444 0 849

2. Ticket refunds will only be made by Turkish Airlines' sales offices. Fare may carry a significant penalty for cancellations. According to fare rules refunds may be up to %100 percent of the fare. Ticket refunds can only be made in the country where the ticket is issued.

3. For the ticket purchases via our web page ,refund can only be made to the credit card used while making the online reservation for the tickets which is refundable.

4. If you make payment and ticketing formalities of your booking by using “THY Pay &Fly with Internet Banking”, for cancellation, refund, rebooking and rerouting procedures please contact Turkish Airlines Sales Offices in Turkey. All cancellation, refund, rebooking and rerouting procedures will be realized by Turkish Airlines Sales offices according to ticket fare rules.

5. The ticketing service charge is non-refundable. There won’t be any additional service charge for ticket refunds.

6. O and G class tickets;

• Except G/Cl 49 YTL and O/Cl 29 YTL (domestic airport service charge is included, all other taxes and charges are excluded)  fares, If reservations will be cancelled 12 hours prior to the departure %30 percent of the applicable fare will be charged as a penalty for refunds. No refunds can be made after departure.

• For G/Cl 49 YTL and O/Cl 29 YTL (domestic airport service charge is included, all other taxes and charges are excluded)  fares, in case of cancellation and refund ticket is non refundable and  rebooking/rerouting is not permitted.

a) Electronic Ticket Cancellation-Refund

Electronic tickets including at least one international flight cancellation, refund, rebooking and rerouting procedures can not be made via our web site. For your cancellation, refund, rebooking and rerouting requests, please contact nearest Turkish Airlines Sales Office with your Ticket Itinerary Receipt (TIR) an acceptable form of identification (Passport, National ID Card or Driving License)

Electronic tickets including only domestic flights cancellation and refund procedures can be made via our web site until the scheduled flight departure time of the first flight . No refunds can be made after departure of the first flight departure via web site. For your rebooking and rerouting requests of pure domestic electronic tickets, please either contact nearest Turkish Airlines Sales Office with your Ticket Itinerary Receipt (TIR) an acceptable form of identification (Passport, National ID Card or Driving License) or Internet Sales Servis Center in the country where the journey begins.


  • Domestic : If reservations will be cancelled 12 hours prior to the departure %30 percent of the applicable fare will be charged as a penalty for refunds. No refunds can be made after departure.
  •  
  • International: Penalty clause of the fare rule shall apply for cancellation/refunds and No-shows.

 

b) Cancellation after Confirmation and Refund / No- Show (Ticket on Departure)

Before Departure :

For domestic flights, if there is more than 12 hours to first flight, cancellation can be made through our web site and full refund is applicable. If there is less than 12 hours to first flight, cancellation via web site is not allowed and refund will be made according to fare rules.

For international flights; cancellation via web site is not allowed. Penalty clause of the fare rule shall apply for cancellation/refunds.

Cancellation/refund and rebooking/rerouting processes are carried out at the following airports according to the fare rules:

After Departure:
Both for domestic and international flights; cancellation is not permitted via internet. Rebooking/rerouting and cancellation/refund procedures can only be done at the following airports:

In case of passenger appearance at the airport after departure, penalty clause of ticket fare rule will be charged to the registered credit card. The fare rules shall apply for refunds and no-shows.

4. The ticketing service charge is non-refundable. There won’t be any additional service charge for ticket refunds.

Important Notice

Denied Boarding Compensation
Airline flights may be overbooked. It is possible that a seat is not available on a flight for which you have a confirmed reservation and ticket. In such cases please contact check in counters and ask for detailed information about Denied Boarding Compensation and Assistance.
Batumi-Hopa Flights:
  • You may book your flights from/to Hopa via our web site if your departure/arrival city is in Turkey. Your flights starting/arriving from/to outside Turkey, you may select Batumi or contact our Sales Offices.
  • The transactions of the passengers who will travel to Hopa, will be done from the check-in desks which is reserved for Hopa passengers in the international terminal in Istanbul.
  • The Turkish citizen passengers who will travel to Hopa from any airport in Turkey, can travel with their Turkish ID card. Our passengers have to mention that they will continue to Hopa during check-in transactions. These passengers will not pay the Airport Departure Fee (15 YTL). Our passengers, who will start their travel from the destinations except Istanbul, will go to the Transit Saloon for Batum flight without taking their luggage in Istanbul.   
  • The passengers traveling to Hopa from any airport  (ones who will not continue to Hopa), will travel with their passports and will pay the Airport Departure Fee (15 YTL).
  • The passengers who will travel from Hopa Airport to one of the airports in Turkey, can travel with their Turkish ID card, will not pay the Airport Departure Fee (15 YTL), and will pay the Domestic Airport Tax.
  • The passengers, who will do their check-in transactions in Hopa Airport, will have to be in the Hopa Terminal at least 3 hours before the Batum-Istanbul flight time.
  • The passengers, who will start their check-in transactions in Batum are excepted as international, and will travel with their passports.

Restricted Ticket:

Nonusage or refund of a promotional or restricted ticket may cause loss of right .

Ticket payments made via Internet may refund only to credit card used for the payment, if the fare rules allow.”

Duplicated Reservation/Booking: All reservations made either via THY web site or other sales channels are controlled by THY systems automatically. According to the reservation rules, if reservations are determined as duplicated reservations, only one of your reservations will be kept and the rest of them will be cancelled without giving any information. Please make sure not to make duplicated reservation.

Discounted Ticket:

You can purchase child and infant (Discounted ) tickets via our web site at the moment. The students (Aged between 13-24) (Younger than 25) and the seniors (Aged 65 and more) purchasing student discount and /or senior discount ticket must present a valid id (Passport, driving licence or marriage certificate) at check-in otherwise they will not be accepted to the flight. This option is valid only on domestic (Turkey) flights.

Student:
To be eligible for a student discount, passenger must be between the age of 13 and 24 (Younger than 25) who are attending a school as a registered student. You may make a reservation for maximum 7 students in one PNR. If you need to make a reservation for more than 7 passengers, please make another reservation. This option is valid only on domestic (Turkey) flights.

65 Years Old And Older Passengers:
Passengers who are at the age of 65 and older are eligible for senior citizen discount. You may make a reservation for maximum 7 passengers if you need to make a reservation for more than 7 passengers, please make one more reservation. This option is valid only on domestic (Turkey) flights.

Wheel Chair

Wheel chair service is given in three different types, for the passengers who need wheel chair for reasons other than serious medical problems 24 hours prior to their first domestic/international flight.

1) For Apron
Wheelchair is provided to the passengers who is able to use stairs but unable to cover long distances aloneup to the plane.The passenger requests the wheelchair to get reach from the passenger lounge to the plane or from the plane to the passenger lounge to the plane.The passenger can walk to his/her seat by himself/herself without any assistance.

2) For Stairs
Wheelchair is provided to the passengers who is able to walk butneed assistance with the airplane's stairs up to the plane door. .The passenger requests the wheelchair to get reach from the passenger lounge to the plane or from the plane to the passenger lounge to the plane.The passenger has problems in ascending the stairs.The passenger can walk to his/her seat by himself/herself without any assistance.

3) Up To The Cabin
Passenger who is unable to walk, wheelchair is provided to take him/her up to the cabin.The passenger is inactive and can not move..The passenger needs assistance with the airplane's stairs.He/She is unable to cover distances alone , i.e. in the cabin from/to the seat and WC and needs assistance within the terminal to/from the gate or exit.

***If the passenger declares that he/she can travel without companion then his/her declaration will be accepted.***

Important notice: The passengers who requests wheelchair are not able take benefit from Online Check-in, Check-in from the kiosks and Online Boarding card services like the other passengers who requests special meal,pet or musical instruments in the cabin etc.

Wheelchair request can not be made for the the passengers who has codeshare flights within their travel.

Wheelchair request can not be made for infants.

All Tickets Originating Outside Turkey:
1. Ticketing Service Charge (TSC) for all departure points except Turkey has been set as 10 Euro or the equivalent amount in local currency if you buy your ticket online at www.thy.com. For the tickets departing from France, Switzerland, Germany, Austria and Belgium, TSC is 15 Euro or equivalent local currency.

2. No TSC will be collected for refund transactions. If you purchase your reservations (TBO) at any Turkish Airlines office except THY.com, the applicable Ticketing Service Charge will be decided according to the location of that office. Therefore, there could arise discrepancies in ticket price amount during the ticketing of reservations at Turkish Airlines offices which are created on THY.com.

General Rules:
  • No ticketing service charge is to be collected for the reissue (Rebooking, re-routing ) transactions made by Turkish Airlines Sales Offices and www.thy.com.
  • There will be no ticketing service charge for the award tickets (Miles&Smiles).
  • The ticketing service charge is non-refundable. There will be no service charge for the ticket refunds.
  • The ticketing service charge will be applicable for all kind of discounted tickets except infant tickets.
  • For the connecting flights, the ticketing service charge amount of the long haul sector will be applied.
  • In the case of a fare class change for both domestic and international tickets, the ticketing service charge amount for the highest fare class within that route will be applied.
  • Turkish Airlines reserves the right to change Ticketing Service Charge Policy and service charge amounts.
