Baggage Allowance
What are baggage allowances, and what are excess baggage charges?
On Turkish Airlines flights from and to the United States, business class and economy class passengers can check two suitcases weighing up to 23kg. Over 23kg but below 32kg will be charged as excess baggage at 80USD. Baggage exceeding 32kg can no longer be accepted. Passengers traveling with babies may also bring one extra suitcase and a stroller free of charge. For business class passengers, the length plus width plus height of each suitcase cannot be greater than 62 inches or 158 cm. For economy class passengers, the total dimensions (Length plus width plus height) of both suitcases added together cannot be greater than 107 inches or 273 cm. Excess baggage charge from New York or Chicago to Istanbul or first domestic Turkish city when connected throught Istanbul is be 150USD per bag. Higher charges apply to points beyond Istanbul.
