Baggage Allowance
What are baggage allowances, and what are excess baggage charges?
On Turkish Airlines flights from and to the United States, business class and economy class passengers can check two suitcases weighing up to 70 lbs or 32 kilos per bag. Passengers traveling with babies may also bring one extra suitcase and a stroller free of charge. For business class passengers, the length plus width plus height of each suitcase cannot be greater than 62 inches or 158 cm. For economy class passengers, the total dimensions (Length plus width plus height) of both suitcases added together cannot be greater than 107 inches or 273 cm. Effective November 1, 2008, excess baggage charge from New York or Chicago to Istanbul or first domestic Turkish city when connected throught Istanbul will be 150USD per bag. Higher charges apply to points beyond Istanbul.
