In the near future HABOM is going to become a key address for airline fleets over a broad area stretching from Europe to the Pacific.
We believe that the aircraft maintenance market share we capture through HABOM will keep on growing and bring a significant increase in revenues. I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate on their success all the valuable engineers and technicians of Turkish Airlines who have proved their capability and technical competence.
The erosion of profits in the airline sector due to rising oil costs was an important item on the agenda of the IATA General Assembly held in Tokyo 29-31 May. Turkish Airlines was proud to be one of the rare airlines that showed a profit in 2004 when the airline sector worldwide lost 5.5 billion dollars. As you know, Turkish Airlines attracted attention by announcing a profit for the first time during the first three months of the year, when airline companies generally lose money. |
