The demand, from investors both
in Turkey and abroad, at almost five times the amount
of shares made available in the public offering,
was an indication of confidence in, and appreciation
of, our success. Although ours was a ‘domestic public offering’,
close to 65% of the demand arose from foreign investors.
Thanks to the good will shown by you during our public
offering, we would like to extend our gratitude to
our investors both at home and abroad, and especially
to you, our esteemed passengers.
While the number of people making the acquaintance
of air travel is rising as a result of our reduced
fares in Turkey, the domestic market has grown
by 50% over the last year. An increase of close
to 30% in the number of international passengers
has also been achieved in the last year in connection
with developments in the economy and in the tourism
sector. This growth is going to gain even further
momentum with the commencement of Turkey’s European
Union negotiations. |
