But Turkish Airlines, compromising neither
your safety nor its service, has managed
through its expert crisis management to
remain one of Europe’s leading airlines,
ranking 3rd in Europe in terms of operating
profit.
Turkish Airlines’ proud success
is resonating in the world press. Giving
broad coverage to Turkish Airlines in
a news item on 17 August 2004, the Financial
Times announced that the airline had decided
to make the largest purchase of new aircraft
in the company’s history, adding
51 new planes to the fleet to a total
of 100 in a period when airlines worldwide
are troubled by terrorism and rising oil
prices. The report emphasized further
that Turkish Airlines has high hopes for
the future. Plans have also been laid
regarding Turkish Airlines’ need
for new personnel when the new planes
go into service. Considering that training
especially of pilots and technicians takes
a year at the minimum, additional personnel
are already being hired.
