WELCOME ABOARD
Dear Guests,
Through its timely decisions and meticulous
implementation, Turkish Airlines is continuing
to develop as a powerful enterprise capable
of competing with the world’s giant
air transport companies. The 2003 Assessment
Report compiled by Air Transport World,
one of the leading publications in the
sector, is just one indication of this
development. As the report notes, our
Partnership, which closed the year with
a net profit of 154 million dollars, took
in operating revenues of 234 million dollars,
leaving many large airlines behind and
putting us in 12th place among the world’s
25 most profitable air transport companies.
As the competition got more and more fierce,
the negative impact on the sector of the
SARS epidemic in 2002 and 9/11 before
that led several airlines in Europe to
downsize or go for mergers with other
airlines.
