I cleared my throat and said, “Ma’am
I’m back. Would you mind letting sit down?”
She looked at me in total surprise. Apologetically,
she said “I’m sorry son. I thought you
had gotten off the plane. That’s why I sat
in your seat.” A friend of mine told me that
he had seen a hostess on a charter flight to Germany
let out a blood-curdling scream and jump on top
of a man. The poor guy had gotten nauseous. He felt
that he needed to open the window and get a good
breath of fresh air. He had taken his pocketknife
out and was prying at the plane’s window.
When the hostess realized this, she began screaming
and jumped on top of the man.
Of course the most classic story about “First

character in the Black Sea jokes that are the equivalent
of Turkish “Aggie” jokes. Temel looked
at the plane’s window, turned to the passenger
sitting beside him and said, “What they say
really is true.
