A 2000-YEAR-OLD MYSTERY
For 300 years, a people in Anatolia descended to underground cities every time they spotted the enemy; those cities constitute the largest underground habitation ever built by man. As for the enemy, from afar he saw a living city with smoking chimneys. But when he reached it, although he could never unravel the mystery, could never understand where so many people had disappeared, all he found was an abandoned city!
Connected by passages several kilometers long, these cities were located in Cappadocia, so familiar to all of us today.
