Singapore is at the same time the world’s
safest city.
A BUSTLING THOROUGHFARE: ORCHARD AVENUE
You can start your tour with Orchard Avenue in the
heart of town. Orchard is a glittering avenue of
five-star hotels, high-rise shopping centers, plazas,
pricey boutiques and famous cafés. At the
lower end, in Sommerset’s Emerald Hill, there
are a number of cafés and bars where you
can take a pleasant break, and at the end of the
avenue you will find the Dhoby Gaut subway station,
from which a train will take you to City Hall. This

old and new houses of Parliament, the Cricket Club,
St. Andrew’s Cathedral, the Singapore Supreme
