A NOBLE WAY
Since temperatures can fall to -5 C in winter while in summer it can be sweltering with occasional downpours-not to mention the crowds of tourists that can make it almost impossible to see anything-spring is perhaps the best time for visiting Prague. Who can resist the appeal of a city that virtually turns into an enormous, well-kept garden in spring with green parks and flowers galore? No magic boots are needed for walking here. Your feet may ache a little at the end of the first day, but it's well worth it. The route that starts from the Gunpowder Gate, one of the entrances to the Old Town, crosses the Charles Bridge and arrives at the Cathedral of Saint Vitus in Prague Castle is a good walking tour for getting acquainted with the city on your first day. This itinerary is the Royal Coronation Route down which centuries of Bohemian kings and queens passed in horse-drawn carriages, accompanied by knights, palace dignitaries, men of religion, soldiers and servants in red livery and white gloves.
