index / From radical to marginal Tuluyhan Ugurlu
Speaking of Mimar Sinan, the great architect of the Ottoman Empire whom he greatly admires, Ugurlu says, "If I could welcome Mimar Sinan to hear my works, I would try to make him realize that there is someone who is trying to carry out his work in a different field of art. I am sure that he would be happy to see someone who is trying to carry on the tradition of hundreds of years."

MESSAGE FROM NEMRUT TO THE WORLD
Perhaps with Tuluyhan Ugurlu the piano has again reached its high point. During this trip a he carried a half-ton instrument to the peak of Mount Nemrut and then to the western terrace of the mountain – to unite the cultures of East and West. Of like mind with the great King Antiochus, millennia later, the pianist-composer Tuluyhan Ugurlu had chosen Nemrut Mountain to send his message to the world.
