index / From radical to marginal Tuluyhan Ugurlu
His second album was related to the holy books. He gained wide fame in Turkey for his film music for the popular Turkish movie, "Istanbul Under My Wings". The 20-year-old student Ugurlu had come to realise the value of his special opportunities in life and proceeded to introduce himself and his music to the Turkish people.

TULUYHAN PLAYS HIMSELF
Tuluyhan Ugurlu places great importance on performing his own music instead of the the great classical masters like Beethoven that the symphony orchestras perform. He made a firm decision to play only his own music despite many pressures on him to the contrary. He explains why: "I don’t have to prove anything to anyone by playing an already known song. … The Ottoman Empire reached a high level of art through architect Mimar Sinan because Sinan's work represents a high intellectual level. Centuries of Ottoman tradition are reflected in Sinan’s work."
