index / Spilling life into art Gürbüz Dogan Eksioglu
Especially in light of the changes we have experienced just in the last couple of years we can safely say there is an increasing interest. If we consider our country as a developing country and America or Japan as the countries that are using the latest technology, Turkey is using exactly the same technologies. So, there is enough technology in Turkey but there is insufficient staff to operate this technology. You can not separate graphics art from the technology. Internet, cinema and television refer to graphic design. We observe an ever-increasing use of graphics for such projects as sales promotions, advertisements and presentations. From this standpoint, graphics are everywhere. As an academician I am following these developments carefully. In every fine arts department that is opened, a graphics branch is included. The only difference from European graphic designers is the structure of the audience that we address. Our graphic artists are working well for the domestic market but today their work is directed more and more to the international market because borders are sweeping away as society becomes more global.
