Construction is still underway today, by a group of architects
of the Gaudi School.
IMPOSSIBLE TO BE BORED
Gaudi's Parc Güell, Battlo and Mila houses
are among the most important sights in Barcelona
today, along with La Seu Cathedral, which although
dating from long before Gaudi's time, is one of
Spain's largest Gothic buildings, and may be regarded
as part of the same legacy. This huge building is
dedicated to St Eulalia, who was executed by the
Romans for converting to Christianity. Do not be
surprised if you come across a flock of white geese
in the cathedral grounds. They have been here for
over five centuries, as symbols of the saint's virginity.
Barcelona is a city with so many sights and diversions
for the visitor, that it is impossible to fit everything
into a short visit. If you have time, you can explore
the old city, and wander through the streets of
Eixample.
