In this letter I wish to tell you about two
innovations which I hope you will find interesting.First
of all, as of 29 January
2001 Turkish Airlines has commenced flying from
the new Sabiha Gokcen International Airport
at Kurtkoy on the Asian side of Istanbul. At
the moment operations at this airport consist
of return flights by RJ aircraft between Istanbul
and Ankara, once daily on Thursdays and Sundays
and twice daily on the other days of the week.Our
second news item is that in February, we are
introducing duty free sales on our international
flights.
The tender for inflight duty free sales has
been won by Setur Servis Turistik A.S., a subsidiary
of the Koc Group, which launched the first duty
free operations in Turkey and has been engaged
in this field for the past 36 years.Our principalobjective
is to offer our passengers an efficient service,
making use of the latest technology, in cooperation
with Setur.
