Geographic Location China is placed in the East Asia at the west coast of Pacific Ocean. Comprising more than 5,000 islands, it has a continental coastline of 18,000 km. The country has borders with Afghanistan, Bhutan, Burma, India, Kazakhstan, North Korea, Kyrgyzstan, Laos, Mongolia, Nepal, Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan and Vietnam. China is situated in a geography constituted of mountains, flat areas, basins and savannas.
