General Information
Attracting attention by its natural beauties and rich historical heritage, Belarus is home to haunting trails and places. Raising on a wide steppe, it has a cosmopolitan geography. One-third of its geography is covered with vast forests. Groves dressed up breeches, wide green plains and hilly fields, panoramic villages of wooden houses, large moors and thousands of lakes are the main themes of Belarus.
Neman, Pripyat and Dnepr are the biggest rivers of country. Minsk Lake placed near Raubichi harbors many islets and is surrounded with dense palm trees. Braslav Lake Region at the north part of Belarus is an excellent place for boating. Tens of lakes found at this region are connected to each other through canals.
A great deal of castles, monasteries and majestic architectural structures of the 12th century are found in Belarus. Minsk placed at the central part of country is an amazing European capital. Many parks and gardens are placed at the capital. Tsentralnaja located at city center is one of the best squares of country. The KGB building is one of the best examples from Minsk’s history. Holl Spirit Cathedral, Saint Peter and Paul Cathedral, Maryinsky Cathedral are among the best Baroque structures. Minsk has a great deal of museums of rich collections. The National Museum is one of the most impressive ones.
Dudutki Open Air Museum and Brest Fortress from the Russian era are the sites that you should absolutely visit.
