The Mediterranean coast, steep mountain peaks, abundant and green valleys, ancient sites, majestic architectures, skiing centers and the fascinating Beirut standing as a coastal city are among the major tourism components of Lebanon.
Beirut is a dynamic and fashion city. It goes with the modern world by its modern structures, the old Ottoman and French architectures, entertainment locations, open air cafes and the holiday resorts at the coastal regions. Pigeon Rocks off the Raouche coast, Roman buildings at Solidere, cafes where you can taste the famous Lebanon coffee, Beirut National Museum and the 12the century mosques are some of the major aspects of Beirut.
Bekaa Valley Region forming the east part of Lebanon is famous for its vineyards, beautiful villages and the farm lands. At Zahle, you should taste from the country cuisine at one of the restaurants with views from Berdaouni River. You will find the best preserved Roman temples at Baalbek. Hermel Pyramid and Deir Mar Maroun Monastery open the pages of history for you. Mount Lebanon is an excellent geography by its snow-capped mountain peaks covnenient for skiing, mountaineering, walks and the other adventure sports.
Hosting historical and archeological attractions, the South Lebanon is the striking part of country. The hills rolling towards the Mediterranean coast are home to many historical ruins. Saida and Sur ancient cities are the Phoenician trade centers.
The North Lebanon is popular by its geography and historical sites. The highest mountain of country, Qornet Es-Saouda (3,090m), is placed at this region. Tripoli standing as the second largest city of Lebanon attracts the visitors through its historical mosques, Turkish baths, Crusade Castle and historical markets.
