General Information
Kazakhistan gained its independence in 1991 after the Soviet Union dissolved. The country has a geography of wide green plains and diverse atmosphere. Most of the residential areas are gathered at the southwest and west regions. These regions are covered with the snow-capped peaks, lakes, the glaciers of Tian Shan Mountains, steppes and deserts. Being the capital of Kazakhistan till a short period of time ago, Almaty has a modern architecture and is a city situated among mountains and valleys. It is alluring with its fountains, parks and magnificent mountain scenes. The Zailiysky Alatau Peaks of Tian Shan captivates thousands of tourists every year. Astana which was the capital of country in 1997 is a small residential area bringing the person comfort and joy.
