General Information
Including the Historical Silk Road, Uzbekstan is captivating by its excellent architectural attractions and the cities carrying the past to the moment. The mountains hosting some of the highest peaks in the world, the desserts of sandy hills and the Khiva city at Urgench are from the genuine aspects of Uzbekstan.
Tashkent, Semerkand and Buhara are the major cities of the country. Tashkent placed at the northeast part of Uzbekstan is impressive with its Old Town (Eski Shakhar). Kaffali-Shash Mausoleum, Barak-Khana ve Kukeldash Madrasahes are the oldest structures at the city. Many museums are found in the capital. The Applied Arta Museum and State Art Museum are two significant ones. Also, the steppes and desserts around Tashkent are ideal places for entertaining excursions. The Registan Square of Semerkand is one of the most popular places of Uzbekstan. Big madrasahes are placed at the square. Shir-Dor and Tillya-Kari are two of them. Buhara city near Semerkand is one of the holliest cities of the Central Asia. The city where Sheikh Bahattin Nakhshibendi lived is home to many valuable Islamic structures. Ismail Samani Mausoleum, Kalyan Mosque, Ulug Beg Madrasah and Abdul Aziz Madrasah are some of the important ones.
Uzbekstan is an important tourism region by its geography. Hosting many peaks and green valleys, the monutains finding a height of 7,000 meters are excellent places for both nature walks and mountaneering.
Pobeda, Korzhenevskaya and Kaan-Tengri peaks are among the highest peaks of the world. The caves placed at Boi-Bulok and Kievskaya are the deepest ones in Asia.
