General Information
By its land, Turkmenistan is the second biggest country of the Central Asia. One-fifth of its territory is covered by Karakum Dessert. Ashkhabad is one of the modern cities of Asia.
The capital placed at the south border of Karakum Dessert is a small city, a few km away from Iran. Ashkhabad is the world-famous for its carpet traders. Tolkuchka Market of the city is a place wehere you can find famous Turkoman carpets. You should travel the Carpet Museum. Also, Art Museum and Turkmenbashi Palace are among the best sites that you should visit.
Being one of the best cities of the Central Asia, Merv deeply impresses the archeologs and the visitors by its historical attractions and ruins. This region is home to five different cities constructed at different terms throughout the history. The Sanjar Mosaleum placed at the city is amply impressive with its size and solidity.
