General Information

Skiing at the peaks meeting the sky, contemprary arts, chocolate and magnificent kinds of cheese recur to the mind when naming Switzerland. Is it all? Switzerland Alps, lakes and rivers taking root from the mountain peaks, mystic brushes, cascades and spas drained from the hillsides, steep rock cliffs and a great deal of museums with rich collections turn the country into a tourism heaven.
Geneva being a cosmopolitan lakeside city, Zurich as the center for world banks, Bern harboring fountains and covered arcades, Basel hosting one of the best zoos in the world are examples from the world cities of Switzerland.

Switzerland raises on a genuine geography not only with its mountain system but also with its rivers and lakes. The magnificent views from the Geneva River that you will observe over the tower of St. Peter Cathedral are alluring. Morat, Neuchatel and Biel lakes placed at the hillside of Jura Mountain are connected to each other through canals. Similar to the other lakes, boating is possible on these waters. When passing through the valleys and savannas covered with a pretty rich flora, you should be careful so that you can feel giddy and fall into the gorgeous and cristal waters.

Small with its geography, but huge by its tourism poteantial, Switzerland is home to about 700 museums.  Geneva Modern and Contemprary Arts Museum, Zurich Fine Arts Museum (Kunsthaus Zurich), Switzerland State Museum and Basel Antiques Museum are a few of this cultural highlights.
