Upgrade
The opportunity to upgrade is within your reach!
You are required to have a paid ticket that must be issued on the booking classes Y, B, M, K, S or H to upgrade from Economy Class to Business Class; and on the booking classes C, D or J to upgrade from Business Class to First Class on Turkish Airlines flights.
Upgrade your flight class... It's so easy!
You are required to have a valid and paid Economy Class or paid Business Class ticket eligible for mileage accrual with confirmed reservation to get yourself upgraded to Business Class.
You can make the reservation for your upgrade at Turkish Airlines Sales and Reservation Offices, or at our authorized agents, upon presenting your membership number. Please remember to provide your Miles&Smiles membership card and present your paid tickets while giving a written request to Turkish Airlines Sales Offices.
The miles required are automatically deducted from your Miles&Smiles membership account once upgrade transactions have been completed.
Please remember that it is important and necessary to have your upgrade stated on your ticket. Classic, Classic Plus, Elite and Elite Plus members can have their flight class upgraded to Business Class at time of check-in by redeeming miles from their Miles&Smiles accounts. This last minute upgrade service is only eligible for Business Class upgrades.
You must have completed First Class upgrade transactions, at latest 12 hours prior to departure, at the sales offices of Turkish Airlines.
PLEASE REMEMBER: FIRST CLASS UPGRADING IS NOT POSSIBLE AT CHECK-IN OR PRIOR TO BOARDING THE AIRCRAFT.
Important notes with regard to upgrading:
Upgrades are available to the next higher class of service. Double Class upgrades are not permitted.
It may not be possible to upgrade your ticket during certain times of the year especially in the high season and on routes of high demand.
Miles earned for travel using upgrade award will be based on the original class of the service purchased.
If you have your ticket upgraded by spending miles from your Miles&Smiles membership account, you cannot use companion tickets in an upgraded class.
The total miles required for upgrade is the same for adults and children.
The miles required for upgrade are deducted from the member's own account. In case of insufficient miles accumulated, miles cannot be pooled with those of other members.
Travel agents are not authorized to make upgrades.
An upgraded ticket is subject to precisely the same rules and conditions of the original ticket.
If the upgraded ticket is returned, it can be refunded according to the regulations of the original ticket.
Free tickets and companion tickets cannot be upgraded.
Upgrade is not possible on code-share flights where Turkish Airlines is not the operating carrier.
Upgrading is applicable for one-way travel only.
